Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

VitaView is developed and operated by Ludyem AS, a company registered in Norway. If you have any privacy-related questions, contact us at support@vitaview.app.

2. What data VitaView uses

VitaView reads health and fitness data from Apple Health (HealthKit) on your device. This includes metrics such as step count, sleep analysis, heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, weight, hydration, and other data types you explicitly grant access to.

This data is used solely to display information within the app and to generate on-device AI insights. It is never transmitted off your device by VitaView.

• Health data is read directly from Apple Health and processed locally.
• Mood entries, journal notes, and tags you create are stored in SwiftData on your device.
• Goals, streaks, and achievements are stored locally and optionally synced via your personal iCloud account (encrypted, controlled by Apple).
• Widget data is shared between the app and widget extension via an App Group container on your device.

3. On-device AI

VitaView's AI features — daily health insights, the AI chat ("Ask VitaView"), and correlation pattern detection — run entirely on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence (FoundationModels framework). No health data, conversation history, or personal information is sent to VitaView's servers or any third-party AI service to generate these responses.

4. What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact details.
• We do not require account creation or sign-in of any kind.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or tracking pixels.
• We do not collect analytics that identify you by name, email address, or Apple ID. Section 5 describes the anonymous usage statistics we do collect.
• We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.

5. Anonymous usage statistics

VitaView reports anonymous usage statistics through AppGlance, an analytics service built and operated by Ludyem AS, the same company that makes VitaView. No outside analytics company receives this data, and no health data is ever included.

• What is sent: that the app was installed, that a use session started and is still open, the VitaView version, the iOS version, and the country your device reports from its region setting.
• Each installation is given a random identifier when the app first runs. It is generated by VitaView, it is not your Apple ID, device serial number, or an advertising identifier, and it is used only to count how many people use the app and how often they return.
• What is never sent: health data, mood entries, journal notes, goals, AI conversations, your name, your email address, and your precise location.
• This data is stored on servers in the European Union.
• Individual usage records are deleted automatically after at most 12 months. Aggregate counts that contain no identifier are kept so long-term totals stay correct.

The random identifier is stored in the device keychain, which iOS preserves when an app is removed, so reinstalling VitaView does not create a new one. To have the usage records for your installation deleted, contact support@vitaview.app.

6. Subscriptions and payments

VitaView Pro is an optional paid subscription managed entirely through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple — VitaView never receives or stores your payment information. Purchase history and subscription status are managed by Apple and RevenueCat (our subscription infrastructure provider), which receives only an anonymised device identifier for entitlement verification.

7. iCloud sync

If you have iCloud enabled, your goals and achievement data may sync across your devices via CloudKit. This sync is end-to-end encrypted by Apple and is subject to Apple's iCloud privacy policy. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → VitaView.

8. Data retention and deletion

All VitaView data (goals, streaks, journal entries, achievements) is stored on your device. To delete it, go to iOS Settings → General → iPhone Storage → VitaView → Delete App. Health data in the Apple Health app is not affected and must be deleted separately via the Health app.

The anonymous usage statistics described in section 5 are the only data held on our servers. Individual records expire automatically after at most 12 months, and you can ask us to delete your installation's records at any time by contacting support@vitaview.app.

9. Children's privacy

VitaView is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be noted in the app release notes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
